At a time when the entire nation is facing the wrath of the coronavirus pandemic, MS Dhoni comeback with the Indian team still remains a trending subject for people. Dhoni hasn’t been playing international cricket since last July. His last appearance against New Zealand was in the semi-final of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Dhoni has not played at any domestic cricket matches since then either. So the success of Dhoni in the IPL would decide whether he would be a member of India’s World T20 team. If this year’s IPL doesn’t happen, MS Dhoni will find it very difficult to make a comeback.
Speaking to IANS, Aakash Chopra shared his view about MS Dhoni comeback and highlighted some important issues related to it.

However former cricketer Aakash termed it a “misconception” people had.
“It is a huge misconception that Dhoni’s return to the Indian team depended on his performance in the IPL.” said Aakash. Also he added “If that’s how we’re going to look at Dhoni as a person and his life, and what he’s achieved as a player, then I guess we’re all knocking at the wrong door, because it’s incorrect.”
Chopra thinks it will happen if Dhoni decides to play again for the Indian team and if the team management decides the same thing too.
If IPL doesn’t take place this year, then T20 World Cup will not also happen. Hence, with out of the cricket for over 18 months, it might difficult for Dhoni to play for India again.
In the recent past, Gautam Gahmbir had said that the IPL could be a testing ground for Ms Dhoni’s comeback.
